About Chloe

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) located in Guelph, Ontario- offering walk and talk therapy locally and virtual therapy across most of Canada.

I never planned to have my own practice or work in the private sector of therapy, but in January 2025, I opened Kona Counselling and Psychotherapy. I made this choice because I wanted to create a space where therapy remains true to its deepest purpose, centered on you and your healing journey. I was (and still am) committed to doing this work in a way that isn’t dictated by larger systems prioritizing financial gain over the well-being of both clients and practitioners, nor constrained by the limited access and strict regulations often found in government or community-based settings.

I bring to my practice a strong educational background, a range of personal and professional experiences, and most importantly, a deep passion and genuine empathy for the people I work with. I'm committed to walking alongside you with compassion, respect, and unwavering support as you navigate your path toward healing and growth, because that's what you deserve

Experience

Before I became a psychotherapist and throughout my training, I spent time working closely with survivors of human trafficking as a case manager and advocate, an experience that reminded me every day the resilience and strength of humans, as well as the importance of operating from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens.

I also helped pay my way through nearly a decade of post-secondary education working as a server and as a recreation therapist. I didn’t realize it at the time, but these roles allowed me to observe and explore human behaviour and psychology in ways that now allow me to better understand the complexities of people’s emotions, needs, impact of life experiences, and coping strategies.

I’m not a therapist who claims to have experienced everything perfectly, or at all. But I do have personal insight and understanding around challenges like addiction, trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. Whether through my own experience or those of people close to me, these realities have shaped my empathy and deepened my commitment to supporting those I work with through a lens of compassion, humility, and authenticity.

I am deeply honoured to do this work and hold the gift and responsibility of it with the utmost respect and care.
